About

As far as I can remember I always wanted to be an editor. Well, not really. I wanted to be a fighter pilot and after watching Goodfellas when I was 10 years old a film director. Using two VCRs, I started editing when I was a teenager, making videos for my friends’ bands to play during their shows. As I grew older, technology became more accessible, so I learned on my own how to use various professional edit software. That allowed me in college to help my friends in film school edit their shorts. While studying literature in college, another of my passions, I landed my very first paying job as a full-time editor on a TV show at the ripe age of 20. I remember being told by the owner of that production house that hired me “welcome to the big time”. But honestly, as I worked my way through the best studios in Venezuela, that did not feel like the big time. That’s why I decided to emigrate in 2010 to New York City and see if I had it in me.

As soon as I moved to NYC, I had the opportunity to freelance and experience working in amazing post houses. I got to cut commercials for ESPN, DirectTV, Verizon, Samsung, etc. I was first assistant editor in a film directed by Darnell Martin, a pioneer in filmmaking. Later, I found my calling in the world of localization and adaptation. Some might flinch at producing over a thousand versions of a campaign in more than 20 languages for over 50 countries, but not me. I loved the challenge and was able to create workflows and grow a team that went from Hogarth to McCann as requested by Microsoft. It was there at McCann where I spent the last 8 years producing thousands of versions for worldwide campaigns as well as cutting every type of work that an inhouse agency needs. From 30 second commercials to long form case studies that won multiple awards at Cannes. Our clients there were big brands with big budgets, like Mastercard, CocaCola, Lockheed Martin, Verizon, Chick-Fil-A, L’Oreal, and many more. Working always hand in hand with creatives to get the best possible story out there for our clients. Now after 8 years as a senior editor and supervisor at McCann, I’m happy to be back freelancing and looking for new challenges and new creative ways to tell stories visually.

When I’m not working, you can find me in North Brooklyn with my two boys and my rockstar wife. Where I also enjoy watching old films, training for powerlifting competitions and if the weather is right, skateboarding the Chelsea Piers.
